17 GIVEAWAY NIGHTS, SCHOOL DAY GAME, $2 BEERS HIGHLIGHT PROMOTIONS
Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Wild on Thursday announced the club’s 2014-15 promotions schedule.
The Wild starts the home season with Opening Weekend on Friday, Oct. 17 and Saturday, Oct. 18 at 7 p.m. against the Milwaukee Admirals. For Opening Night, the first 5,000 fans will receive a 2014-15 magnetic schedule, presented by Hicklin Garage Doors. Also, it’s the first of nine $2 Beer Nights, presented by 100.3 The Bus. Fans may purchase $2 domestic drafts through the first period of play. On Oct. 18, Iowa celebrates Local Heroes Night by handing out schedule posters to the first 5,000 fans through the gates. Prior to the game, Iowa will host the first annual Guns N’ Hoses game (Police Dept. vs. Fire Dept.) in the afternoon.
The Wild hosts College Night with $2 beers on Friday, Oct. 24 against the Charlotte Checkers at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 25 the team holds Youth Sports Night, where the first 1,500 fans (12 and under) receive a white Iowa Wild youth jersey, compliments of NASH FM 97.3.
For the first time in team history, the Wild will hold Wild About Education on Thursday, Nov. 6 at 10:30 a.m. The School Day game against the Rockford IceHogs will feature 5,000 drawstring backpacks from KJJY 92.5. Each student will be handed an Iowa Wild school workbook, presented by Hy-Vee. The game also features a special appearance from Dan Gable, a retired American Olympic wrestler and head coach. He is best known for his tenure as head coach at the University of Iowa, where he won 16 NCAA team titles between 1976 and 1997. He is also famous for having only lost one match in his entire Iowa State University collegiate career – his last. Gable is also known for winning gold at the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, Germany, while not giving up a single point. The game also features a special presentation by the Science Center of Iowa.
Iowa will host Ladies Night on Saturday, Nov. 8, and the first 2,500 fans will receive Ice Scrapers, compliments of Greater Iowa Credit Union. All glasses of wine will be discounted by $1 as part of Ladies Night. Sunday, Nov. 9, the team holds its first ever Pucks N’ Paws Day, where fans may bring their dog to the game. The first 2,500 fans to the game will be handed an Iowa Wild pet tag, compliments of Anderson Animal Hospital. Both games against Chicago feature the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48. Every Sunday game during the season is a Subway Family Four Pack Night.
Iowa will partner with the ALS Association Iowa Chapter for ALS Weekend on Nov. 14 and 15. The team will wear camouflage jerseys for both weekend games, culminating with a postgame jersey auction on Saturday, Nov. 15. A majority of the proceeds from the jersey auction will benefit the ALS Association Iowa Chapter. Iowa hosts Oklahoma City on Saturday for Veteran Appreciation Night. Upon entry, the first 2,500 fans will be given a camouflage hat sponsored by Deery Brothers Chevrolet and Iowa National Guard.
The Wild will hold its first “Throwback Thursday” on Dec. 11. Every Thursday night game this season features a “Throwback” theme night and specialty concession pricing per game. Depending on the night, fans will be offered one of the following specials: $1 Hot Dogs, $1 popcorn or $1 sodas. Aside from Dec. 11, Iowa will also hold Throwback Thursdays on Jan. 22, Jan. 29 and Apr. 9.
The Wild celebrates Teddy Bear Toss Night on Friday, Dec. 12 with a 7 p.m. faceoff against the San Antonio Rampage. When the team scores its first goal of the game, fans are encouraged to throw new stuffed animals on to the ice for charity. Fans will also be able to purchase $2 beers through the first period of play.
Iowa hosts Lake Erie for a pair of games: a 7 p.m. faceoff on Jan. 17 and a 3 p.m. Jan. 18. The Wild hosts Kids Winterfest on Sunday, Jan. 18, featuring 1,500 youth jerseys (green), compliments of KDSM FOX 17. In an effort to collect used sporting goods equipment, Scheels is proud to sponsor the Wild’s equipment drive. Fans will also be able to purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48. After the game, fans will be permitted to participate in a postgame skate.
The Wild welcomes the Hamilton Bulldogs on Friday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. and Saturday, Jan. 31 at 12:30 p.m. On Jan. 30, Iowa celebrates Military Night with 1,500 camouflage Koozies. It’s also a $2 Beer Night. The team will honor military personnel with “Sing For Heroes”. Saturday, the first 2,500 fans receive an Iowa Wild mini stick and the team will participate in American Heart Association Day. Fans will also be able to purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48.
The Wild kicks off a three-game home stand with a $2 Beer Night on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7 p.m., the first of two straight against the Texas Stars. Saturday the 14th, the team hosts Pink In the Rink, promoting breast cancer awareness in a partnership with Susan G. Komen Iowa. Last year, over 10,000 hockey fans attended the game that saw the Wild raise over $36,000 through a postgame jersey auction, benefitting Komen Iowa. The team will once again don pink-in-the-rink themed jerseys for the special night, which includes a postgame jersey auction. The first 7,500 fans to the game will receive a pink light-up pen. The weekend wraps up on Sunday, Feb. 15 with a 4 p.m. game against Oklahoma City and Crash’s birthday party. The Wild celebrates Mascot and Super Heroes Night that day by handing out Iowa Wild insulated lunch bags to the first 1,500 fans. Fans will also be able to purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48.
Saturday, Mar. 21 the Wild host Charlotte at 7 p.m. and promote Health and Wellness. The first 1,500 fans to the game will receive an Iowa Wild gym duffel bag. The following day, Iowa will hold its first Agriculture Appreciation Night on Sunday, Mar. 22 at 3 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild cowbell. Fans will also be able to purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48. The team will also hold a postgame skate.
Friday, Mar. 27 is a $2 Beer Night and the team will host its annual Go Green Night. Aside from energy efficiency education, the team will hand out Erik Haula bobbleheads to the first 2,500 fans, compliments of Krist Insurance. Haula is the first player in Iowa Wild history to make his NHL debut after playing for Iowa. On Saturday, Mar. 28 at 12:30 p.m. the team will host Faith and Family Day, featuring a postgame faith concert. Fans will also be able to purchase the Subway Family Four Pack, where packages include four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas, starting at $48.
Iowa opens the final month of the season with Race Car Night on Friday, Apr. 3. At 7 p.m. The first 5,000 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild rally towel, compliments of 107.5 KISS FM and ALT 106.3 FM. Fans may also enjoy a $2 Beer Night through the first period of play.
The Wild completes its home schedule with two Fan Appreciation games, starting on Apr.10 and concluding on Apr. 14. Friday, Apr. 10 is a $2 Beer Night and the first 5,000 fans will be handed an Iowa Wild team poster. For the final home game of the regular season, each fan will get to participate in the Wild’s “Everyone Wins” promotion.

Iowa will play a home-and-home preseason set against the Chicago Wolves. The two teams will meet at Wells Fargo Arena in the first meeting, set for Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. There will be a full-team autograph session following the preseason game. Iowa Wild season ticket holders (full, 21-game, 10-game) will be admitted to the preseason game free of charge and will also be able to pick up their season tickets starting at 4:30 p.m. – when the doors officially open for the game. Preseason tickets are on sale at the Wells Fargo Arena box office or by calling (515) 564-8700. Advanced tickets are priced at $6.00 until the day of the game, when the price increases to $8.00. A portion of the proceeds from a silent auction will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of Iowa. Parking is available in the North lot for $7.00 for all patrons.
Iowa wraps up its two-game set with Chicago at the Wolves practice facility in Hoffman Estates, IL. The Wolves will host the Wild on Friday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Triphahn Community Center Ice Arena, located at 1685 W. Higgins Road, Hoffman Estates, IL. Wild fans interested in attending the game may purchase tickets for $8.00 at the main counter of the Triphahn Community Center.
The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center and begins on the road Oct. 10 in San Antonio. Fans may purchase seats to the Home Opener on Friday, Oct. 17 against the Milwaukee Admirals at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
