GUSTAFSSON AND BUSSIERES ASSIGNED TO ALASKA

Goaltender and Forward Sent to ECHL

DES MOINES, IA  – Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Friday that the American Hockey League (AHL) club has assigned goaltender Johan (Joe-hahn) Gustafsson and forward Raphael Bussieres (boo-see-air-es) to the Alaska Aces, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate.

Gustafsson, a second-year pro, is Iowa’s all-time leaders for games played (54), wins, minutes played (3,050) and saves (1,428). He is 16-30-4 in two seasons with Iowa, posting a 3.13 GAA and a .900 SV %. This season, the Koping, Sweden native is 4-9-1 with a 3.54 GAA and a .890 SV%. Gustafsson was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth round (#159 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to make his ECHL debut this weekend.

Bussieres, a second-year pro, played in 61 games for Iowa last season, scoring five goals an adding 14 assists for 19 points. This season, the 6-1, 193-pound winger has been limited to eight games due to injury. The 21-year old was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the second round (#46 overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft. He is expected to make his ECHL debut this weekend.

Iowa continues a five-game road trip on Dec. 6 and 8 with a stop in Charlotte. The Wild returns home for a two-game series against the Rampage on Thursday, Dec. 11 on Friday, Dec. 12 at 7 p.m. Thursday’s game is a Throwback Thursday, where fans can purchase popcorn for $1.00, sponsored by 95.0 KGGO. For Friday’s game, the Wild will hold a Teddy Bear Toss and feature $2 beers presented by 100.3 The Bus. For Teddy Bear Toss, fans are encouraged to throw new stuffed animals onto the ice after the Wild scores its first goal. The stuffed animals will be collected and donated to local charities. Iowa then hosts Adirondack at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 14. After the game, the Wild will hold a postgame autograph session with the team. The game is also a Subway Family Four Pack night, where fans can purchase four tickets, four hot dogs and four sodas starting at $48.

The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
