Wild Welcomes Rockford on Tuesday at 7 PM
DES MOINES, IA – Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Tuesday the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed defenseman Brad Richard to a professional tryout agreement (PTO).
Richard is expected to make his AHL debut with the Wild this week. The New Bedford, MA native has played in 23 games for the Alaska Aces this season, Iowa’s ECHL affiliate. He is among the team leaders for points by a defenseman with seven goals and 12 points for Alaska. The 5-10, 195-pounder spent his entire rookie season with the Aces, helping the team win the Kelly Cup in the spring of 2014. As a rookie, Richard set up 24 goals and totaled 30 points in 62 games played. From 2009-13, the 25-year old played at Hobart College. In 97 ECAC games, Richard scored 22 times and added 42 assists for 64 points.
The Wild concludes a four-game home stand, hosting Rockford at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 16. The team celebrates Taco Tuesdays, presented by Taco Johns. Each fan that comes to the game will be handed a coupon for a complimentary crispy beef taco from Taco Johns. In addition, Taco Johns will select one lucky fan to receive a six-pack of tacos and a pound of potato oles. It’s also a two-for-one Tuesday, presented by Hits 99.9 FM, where fans may purchase one attack end ticket and get one free. The Wild are also hosting a “Toys for Tots” toy drive. Any fan that donates a toy will receive a ticket to a future Wild home game. Also, fans that bring a Subway receipt may purchase a ticket for $5.00 at the Wells Fargo Arena box office.
The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
