Wild Hosts Grand Rapids Thursday at 7 P.M.
DES MOINES, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Thursday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Matt Dumba (pronounced (DUHM-ba) from the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL) and reassigned defenseman Stu Bickel to Iowa.
Dumba, 20 (7/25/94), has totaled five points (2-3=5) in 23 games with Minnesota this season. The 6-foot, 189-pound native of Regina, Sask., has recorded 14 points (5-9=14) and a plus-2 rating in 20 games with Iowa this season and participated in the AHL All-Star Game. He has totaled seven points (3-4=7) in 36 career NHL games with Minnesota. Dumba was selected by the Wild in the first round (seventh overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Bickel, 28 (10/2/86), has tallied one assist and 46 penalty minutes (PIM) in nine games with Minnesota this season and has recorded five points (2-3=5) and 34 PIM in 18 games with Iowa. The 6-foot-4, 210-pound native of Chanhassen, Minn., has totaled 10 assists and 203 PIM in 76 career NHL games with the New York Rangers and Minnesota.
Iowa returns home to face Grand Rapids on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 7 p.m., kicking off a three-game home stand. It’s also a Throwback Thursday, where fans may purchase sodas for one dollar, presented by 95 KGGO. On Friday, Jan. 30, the Wild hosts the Hamilton Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Also on Friday, Iowa celebrates Military Appreciation Night, where the first 1500 fans receive camou koozies, sponsored by NASH 92.5. Friday’s game is also a $2 Beer Night, presented by 100.3 The Bus. Fans may purchase 10-ounce domestic beers through the first period of play. Iowa finishes its home stand against Hamilton on Saturday, Jan. 31 at 12:30 p.m. The Wild will also hold AHA Heart Day, where the first 2500 fans receive mini sticks, presented by Local ABC 5.
The Iowa Wild 2014-15 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
