IOWA WILD SHOWCASES 2015-16 PROMOTIONAL SCHEDULE

Bobbleheads, Specialty Jerseys and School Day Game Highlight A Packed Promo Schedule

DES MOINES, IA – The Iowa Wild announced on Wednesday the team’s promotional schedule for the 2015-16 regular season.  

The team is rolling out numerous giveaways, specialty jerseys and youth promotions– enhancing the overall fan experience at Wells Fargo Arena for Iowa Wild home games. The team plans to reveal additional details and promotions in the near future. All promotions are subject to change.  

The festivities start with a tailgate party at the Iowa Events Center on Saturday, Oct .10, as the Wild host the Charlotte Checkers on Opening Night at 7 p.m. The tailgate party is open to the general public and takes place in the near North lot adjacent to the Community Choice Convention Center. The first 5,000 fans to the first game of the season receive an Iowa Wild 2015-16 Cling schedule, presented by Hicklin Garage, KXNO 1460 and The Bus 100.3. The team rounds out opening weekend with a rematch against the Checkers and Kid’s Opening Night. The first 2,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild 2015-16 schedule poster, sponsored by TS Construction, 1460 KXNO and The Bus 100.3.  Families may also take advantage of the Subway Combo Pack, which includes one ticket, one hot dog, one soda and one subway coupon – starting at just $12. 

The Wild celebrates Pheasants Forever Night with a visit from the Texas Stars on Saturday, Oct. 24 at 7 p.m. The first 1,500 fans to the game receive an Iowa Wild hunting-themed baseball hat, presented by Gander Mountain, Federal Premium Ammunition and Pheasants Forever. The rematch with Texas on Sunday, Oct 25 is “Pucks and Paws” Day at Wells Fargo Arena – allowing fans to bring their canine friends to the game. The first 500 fans with their dog to arrive at the game will receive an Iowa Wild themed dog bowl mat, powered by Anderson Animal Hospital and Lazer 103.3

Iowa looks to scare the Milwaukee Admirals with the Halloween game on Saturday, Oct. 31 at 7 p.m. It is Halloween Hat Trick or Treat Night, where fans are encouraged to wear their costumes to the game and Trick-or-Treat on the concourse.

The team returns the Wild About Education School Day game on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 10:30 a.m. The game is popular among area schools with an educational visit to a hockey game. The Wild turns Wells Fargo Arena into the largest classroom in the state by offering up a variety of educational programs, teaching students about the game and how it correlates to classroom learning programs. Each student will be given a workbook upon entering the game. The Science Center of Iowa will be on hand to provide extra educational information during intermissions.

Saturday, Nov. 7 is Ladies Night, presented by Goodwill. The team will also run a charity drive benefitting Goodwill.   On Sunday, Nov. 8, fans may pickup a Subway Combo pack and participate in a Salute to Local Heroes. Prior to the 3 pm faceoff with Lake Erie, fans may enjoy a local-heroes game composed of police, first responders, military veterans and firemen. The weekend of Nov. 13-14, Iowa hosts ALS Night as part of Veterans Appreciation weekend. The Wild will wear specialty jerseys to be auctioned off after Saturday’s game to benefit ALS of Iowa. The first 1,500 fans to the game on Nov. 14 will be handed an Iowa Wild Stars-and-Stripes baseball hat, compliments of Vatterott College and ALT 106.3.

Youth Sports Day highlights the first matinee game of the season on Saturday, Nov. 21 at 12:30 p.m. vs. Lake Erie. The first 1,500 fans (ages 12 and under) to the game receive an Iowa Wild youth jersey, sponsored by LeafGuard and NASH FM.

Iowa calls for the Teddy Bear Toss on Sunday, Dec. 20 at 3 p.m. The annual toss benefits the pediatric unit at Mercy Hospital. The Wild welcomes San Antonio on Dec. 20 and again on Monday, Dec. 21 at 7 p.m. Iowa closes out the 2015 home schedule on Dec. 27 with the Rockford IceHogs.

John Torchetti Bobblehead Night, Kids WinterFest and Military Appreciation Night are the feature nights in January. The first 1,000 fans to Kids WinterFest on Sunday, Jan. 17 receive a Crash OYO minifigurine. The Wild will also hold a full-team postgame autograph session. Iowa hosts Military Appreciation Night on Friday, Jan. 29th at 7 p.m. with Charlotte.  The first 1,500 (kids 12 and under) fans through the gates are handed a Stars & Stripes youth jersey, presented by Scheels and KISS 107.5. The first 1,500 fans to the game on Saturday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m. receive a bobblehead of Iowa Wild Head Coach John Torchetti.

To promote healthy living, the Wild hosts Health and Wellness night. The first 1,500 fans to the game on Feb. 5 receive an Iowa Wild eye chart, sponsored by Lifetime Vision. The following weekend marks the return of one of the more popular games of the season with Pink in the Rink on Friday. Feb 12 at 7 p.m. with Grand Rapids. The team will don pink-in-the-rink themed specialty jerseys to promote breast cancer awareness. The specialty jerseys will be auctioned off to benefit Susan G. Komen of Iowa. 1,500 pink items will be handed out prior to the game. The Wild follows up with Crash’s birthday party on Saturday, Feb. 13 at 7 pm. As part of the celebration, the team will hand out 1,500 Super Hero posters and hosts a postgame mascot autograph session, as well as a postgame skate (bring your own).

The Wild welcomes the first 1,000 fans with a water bottle giveaway (compliments of Water Works Park) to promote the Go Green Game on Saturday, Mar. 26 at 12:30 p.m. Iowa will present its’ second bobblehead night on Friday, Apr. 1 – handing out 1,500 mystery bobbleheads prior to the game, presented by Krist Insurance.

The team closes out the regular-season home schedule with Fan Appreciation Night on Friday, Apr. 15 at 7 p.m. The first 2,500 fans to the game will be handed an Iowa Wild team poster.

With the release of the 2015-16 regular-season schedule, the Iowa Wild will make single-game tickets available for purchase starting Sept. 9 at 10 a.m.

The Green-White game is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 30 at 6 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Arena with a split-squad scrimmage of Iowa Wild players. The game features two (2) 30-minute running clock halves with a short intermission in between the two periods. Fans are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to gain entrance to the game. The items will be donated to the Bidwell Riverside Center.

The Iowa Wild plays a pair of preseason games, both will be in North Dakota against the Manitoba Moose -the Winnipeg Jets AHL club. Iowa and Manitoba meet in Grand Forks, ND on Fri. Oct. 2 at 7 p.m. The two teams will play a second preseason game in Fargo, ND on Sat. Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. 

Iowa begins its third season in the AHL this fall. The team will host Opening Night on Saturday, Oct. 10. Fans may purchase single-game tickets multiple ways, either through the team's website – www.Iowawild.com, the Wells Fargo Arena box office or participating Hy-Vee food stores. Tickets are available online at www.Iowawild.com under the single game tickets tab. The Wells Fargo Arena box office is open Monday – Friday from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and closed on Sunday. For Saturday game days, the box office will open at 10 a.m. For Sunday game days the box office will open at 12 p.m. Fans may also purchase tickets by calling 1-844-55-HYVEE or by visiting participating Hy-Vee food stores locations in the greater Des Moines area. The Iowa Wild 2015-16 season is presented by Mercy Medical Center, it runs from October through April. Fans may purchase seats to see any of the team’s 38 regular season home games at Wells Fargo Arena. Season tickets to see the Wild play its 2015-16 season at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
