IOWA WILD SIGNS PEYTON JONES TO PTO
Jan 2, 2024DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Wild General Manager Mike Murray today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed goaltender Peyton Jones to a professional try-out contract (PTO).
Jones, 27 (2/14/96), has appeared in 21 games with the Iowa Heartlanders in the ECHL this season, where he has posted a record of 8-10-1, with a 3.11 goals against average (GAA), a .901 save percentage (SV%), and one shutout. He skated in 30 games with the Belfast Giants and Nottingham Panthers in the EIHL last season, where he posted a combined record of 15-12-0, with a 2.84 GAA, a .912 SV%, and two shutouts. Jones previously appeared in five AHL games with the Colorado Eagles in 2020-21 and 2021-22. Prior to his professional career, Jones appeared in 133 games across four seasons with Penn State University, where he went 76-44-11 with a 2.88 GAA, a 0.907 SV%, and four shutouts.
