MINNESOTA WILD REASSIGNS GOALTENDER JESPER WALLSTEDT TO IOWA
Oct 4, 2023SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has reassigned goaltender Jesper Wallstedt to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Wallstedt, 20, (11/14/2002), went 18-15-5 with a 2.68 goals-against average (GAA) and 0.908 save percentage (SV%) with Iowa in 2022-23. The 6-foot-3, 214-pound native of Västerås, Sweden, scored the first goal by a goaltender in Minnesota Wild organization history on Nov. 12, 2022 against the Chicago Wolves. Wallstedt earned his first professional shutout on Jan. 13, 2023 against the Grand Rapids Griffins and received AHL Goaltender of the Month honors for January. He was selected by Minnesota in the first round (20th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
