IOWA RELEASES FOUR FROM TRAINING CAMP
Des Moines, IA – Minnesota Wild General Manager Chuck Fletcher on Saturday announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has assigned defenseman Tyler Cuma and goaltender Johan Gustafsson to the Iowa Wild of the American Hockey League (AHL). Minnesota’s training camp roster now stands at 26 players. In addition, Iowa Wild General Manager Jim Mill announced on Saturday that forwards Ryley Grantham, Mike Hellyer and Gary Steffes, as well as defenseman Tyler Yaworski, have been released from training camp.
Gustafsson, 21 (2/28/92), appeared in Friday night's preseason game for Minnesota, suffering the loss after allowing four goals on 11 shots in 20 minutes of play. He went 20-13-0 with a 1.70 GAA and a .929 save percentage in 33 games for Lulea HF in Sweden’s Elite League last season. Gustafsson was selected by the Wild in the sixth-round (159 overall) of the 2010 NHL Entry Draft.
Cuma did not appear in any preseason games for Minnesota. The 23-year-old recorded 12 points (1-11=12) and 14 penalty minutes (PIM) in 42 games with the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL) last season. The 6-foot-1, 194-pound native of Toronto, Ont., owns 25 points (2-23=25) and 77 PIM in 146 career AHL matches over three seasons with Houston. He was originally selected by the Wild in the first-round (No. 23 overall) of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
Fans will get their first look at the Iowa Wild on Wednesday, October 2nd at 7:00 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena for the Green-White Scrimmage. The event is open to the public. Admission is free with the donation of a non-perishable food item (one per person). All donations will go to movethefood.org. Seating will be on a first come, first-served basis.

The Iowa Wild begins its Inaugural season, presented by Mercy Medical Center, in October of 2013. Season tickets to see the Wild play at Wells Fargo Arena start at just $9 per game.
