The Iowa Wild and Texas Stars battle for the first time this season with a 7:30 p.m. CT puck drop scheduled in Cedar Park, TX. The Wild is just 8-11-2-1 all-time against the Stars, however, Iowa claimed the last three meetings of last year’s season series while picking up points in all four games against Texas (3-0-1-0). Five of the Wild’s eight victories against the Stars have come on the road.

The Wild jumped out to an early 1-0 lead Saturday night and were eventually in front 3-1 before ultimately falling 4-3 in overtime to the host San Antonio Rampage. Winger Gerry Mayhew scored for the second-straight game and center Pat Cannone extended his point streak to five games in the defeat. Steve Michalek (36 saves) suffered the overtime setback as Rampage winger Rocco Grimaldi converted on a power play for the overtime game-winning goal.
