The Wild and the IceHogs meet for games four and five of their ten-game season series, Sunday and Monday night at BMO Harris Bank Center in Rockford, Ill. Iowa and Rockford clashed back on Mar. 6 and Mar. 7 at BMO Harris Bank Center, with the IceHogs winning both games, 3-2 and 4-3 (OT).

 

RECENT RESULTS

 

The Wild were beaten twice at home last weekend by the Chicago Wolves, who outscored Iowa 10-2 in the two contests. The IceHogs return home from two games in Grand Rapids last weekend, where they swept the Griffins with two overtime wins at Van Andel Arena.

 

WILD WRITINGS

 

  • Forward Gerry Mayhew scored his first AHL goal of the season on Mar. 14 after being reassigned to Iowa from the Minnesota Taxi Squad on Mar. 12.
  • Mayhew’s Mar. 14 goal was his 89th career AHL goal, all with Iowa, and stands as the most in franchise history.
  • Forward Connor Dewar was recalled on Mar. 16 to the Minnesota Taxi Squad, marking the first NHL recall of his career.
  • Forward Gabriel Dumont leads all Wild skaters in scoring against the IceHogs this season with two goals, one assist for three points.

 

ROCKFORD REGISTER

 

  • Forward Dylan McLaughlin tallied both game-winning goals in OT against Grand Rapids.
  • Goaltender Matt Tomkins made a career-high 46 saves in Rockford’s Mar. 16 win over Grand Rapids.
  • The IceHogs’ penalty kill went a perfect 9-9 in their last two games.
  • Forward Andrei Altybarmakian leads all Rockford players in scoring against Iowa this season with two goals, one assist for three points.
