The Iowa Wild host the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. at Wells Fargo Arena on Winning Wednesday, presented by Pizza Hut and KIOA. If the Wild win, all fans in attendance will receive a free ticket to an upcoming game. All fans in attendance will receive a Pizza Hut free wings voucher as an exit giveaway.

Last Time: Iowa earned a 6-3 win over Rockford on Nov. 9 in the first game of the season series at BMO Center... Liam Öhgren recorded a hat trick... THIRD PERIOD SUCCESS: Iowa outscored Milwaukee 7-1 in the third period over the weekend... The Wild have recorded a third period goal in eight of the last nine contests... Iowa has outscored opponents 18-15 in the third period over that span... The Wild have won six of seven games when outscoring opponents in the final frame 

SHOT BARRAGE: Iowa set a season high with 43 shots on Sunday against Milwaukee... The Wild peppered the Admirals with 21 shots in the third period... Iowa had previously recorded 36 shots or more in a game seven times this season 

POWER PLAY BREAKTHROUGH: Iowa’s power play scored for the first time in six games on Sunday... The Wild had not scored a power play goal in 19 consecutive opportunities dating back to Nov. 16 vs. Texas 

FRESH FACE 

  • Defenseman David Jiricek was acquired from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Nov. 30 and reassigned to the Iowa Wild on Dec. 9 

  • Jiricek was drafted in the first round (#6 overall) in the 2022 NHL Draft 

  • Matt Dumba (first round, #7 overall, 2012) was Iowa’s previous highest drafted player 

  • The 6-foot-4, 204-pound native of Klatovy, Czech Republic recorded 10 points (1-9=10) and 22 penalty minutes (PIM) in 43 games with the Columbus in 2023-24 

  • Jiricek earned a bronze medal with Czechia at 2022 IIHF World Championship 

  • Jiricek was named Rookie of the Year in Tipsport Extraliga, the top professional league in Czechia, in 2020-21 

HOT HANDS 

  • Liam Öhgren has scored eight times and registered nine points in 10 games since being reassigned to Iowa on Dec. 4 

  • Öhgren’s has scored three times in the last two games 

  • Luke Toporowski has posted eight points (6-2=8) in nine games to start his season 

  • Brendan Gaunce (2-2=4) is riding a four-game point streak
