Following a series split in Manitoba, the Wild are taking on the Grand Rapids Griffins for the first time this season. The Wild are 7-3-1-2 at home against Grand Rapids over the last five years.

 

PREVIOUSLY ON THE POND

 

The Wild faced off against the Manitoba Moose in a two-game series last weekend, splitting the games in Winnipeg. Iowa defenseman Joe Hicketts and forward Joseph Cramarossa both recorded two goals and one assist in the series. On Sunday, Oct. 31, 2021, the Wild were outshot for the first time this season. However, Iowa goaltender Dereck Baribeau made 29 saves on 30 shots to secure the victory and the series split.

 

IOWA INTENSITY

 

  • Six Iowa players (Swaney, Cramarossa, Hicketts, Rossi, Dewar and Rau) have as many or more points than games played this season.
  • Wild forward Nick Swaney is tied for fourth in goals scored in the AHL.
  • Iowa defenseman Calen Addison scored his first career NHL goal on Nov. 2, 2021 with Minnesota.
  • In each of the last four games, at least six different Wild skaters have recorded points.

 

GALLANT GRIFFINS

 

  • Griffins forward Taro Hirose is one of three AHL players with at least seven points and no goals scored.
  • Since being recalled on Oct. 30, 2021, Griffins forward Joe Veleno has recorded one goal and one assist in three games with Detroit.
  • Grand Rapids defenseman Ryan Murphy is tied for fourth in points scored (5) among AHL defensemen.
  • Of AHL goaltenders with at least four games played, Griffins goaltender Calvin Pickard is number one in save percentage (.955).

 

The Wild are hitting the road and heading to Milwaukee to battle the Admirals on Nov. 6, 2021. Faceoff is set for 6 p.m. CT.
