IOWA WILD SIGNS FORWARD TRISTAN ASHBROOK TO PTO
Mar 20, 2025DES MOINES, Iowa – Iowa Wild General Manager Matt Hendricks today announced the American Hockey League (AHL) club has signed forward Tristan Ashbrook to a professional try-out contract (PTO). The Iowa Wild also reassigned defenseman Kyle Masters and forward Matthew Sop to the Iowa Heartlanders (ECHL) and released forward Jack O’Brien from his PTO.
Ashbrook, 26 (7/16/1998), has recorded 24 points (15-9=24), 27 penalty minutes (PIM) and a minus-6 rating in 38 games with the Cincinnati Cyclones in the ECHL this season. Ashbrook has skated in four games with the Iowa Wild this season and registered one assist, two PIM, and a plus-2 rating. Ashbrook has five assists in 13 AHL games this season between the Iowa Wild, Cleveland Monsters, Belleville Senators, and Providence Bruins.
Ashbrook posted 57 points (32-35=57), 39 PIM, and a plus-11 rating in 69 games with the Adirondack Thunder in the ECHL in 2023-24. He made his ECHL debut with the Savannah Ghost Pirates in 2022-23, where he recorded an assist and a plus-1 rating in five games.
Prior to his professional career, the 5-foot-11, 176-pound native of Manistique, Mich., spent three seasons at Michigan Tech (2020-23), where he totaled 45 points (28-17=45), 22 PIM, and a plus-11 rating across 94 games. Ashbrook also played for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2019-20 and posted 13 points (9-4=13) and 14 PIM in 34 games.
Ashbrook skated for the Lincoln Stars in the USHL for two seasons (2017-19), where he recorded 52 points (30-22=52), 60 PIM, and a minus-9 rating in 109 games played.
Ashbrook will wear sweater No. 15 for Iowa.
