
MINNESOTA WILD TRADES FORWARD REESE JOHNSON TO TORONTO MAPLE LEAFS
Mar 7, 2025SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has traded forward Reese Johnson to the Toronto Maple Leafs for future considerations.
Johnson, 26 (7/10/98), recorded 13 points (4-9=13), 35 penalty minutes (PIM), and a minus-4 rating in 49 games with Iowa and skated in three games with Minnesota this season. Johnson recorded five points (2-3=5), 40 PIM and 109 hits in 42 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. The 6-foot-1, 192-pound native of Regina, Saskatchewan, owns 17 points (7-10=17) and 103 PIM in 141 career NHL games over four seasons with Chicago (2020-24). He led Chicago with a career-high 178 hits in 2022-23 and ranked third on the team with 141 hits in 2021-22. Johnson has also collected 32 points (12-20=32) and 129 PIM in 101 AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs (2018-22) and Iowa. The right-shot winger made his NHL debut on January 31, 2021 against the Columbus Blue Jackets.
