Gerry Mayhew took the lead in scoring in the Calder Cup Playoffs in Game 1 of the Central Division Final against the Chicago Wolves, potting both goals in the contest for the Wild, but the team ultimately fell by a score of 3-2 in overtime on this date in 2019. Chicago took the lead early in the first, but Mayhew found the back of the net with 70 seconds remaining in the opening period to tie it at 1-1. His second goal gave the Wild a 2-1 lead heading into the third, but with less than seven minutes remaining, the Wolves knotted the contest up at 2-2. In overtime, Cody Glass scored with 1:21 remaining to give the Wolves a 1-0 series lead.
